Council of Attorneys General releases defamation draft provisions and background paper

The NSW Attorney General the Hon Mark Speakman SC MP has issued a media release (link available here) regarding draft provisions (link available here) and a background paper (link available here) on national defamation reform. The Council of Attorneys-General today agreed to release the draft reforms for public consultation, with comments being sought by 24 January 2019.
