In February this year President Noel Hutley SC wrote to Attorney General the Hon Gabrielle Upton MP concerning the reinstatement of the right to elect for a jury in a civil trial. The attorney general has advised the president that the government has no plans to reinstate a general right to civil jury trial in New South Wales.
