Special call-over at Parramatta District Court

In view of the significant backlog of District Court trials, a special call-over will be conducted for trials listed at Parramatta District Court during the week commencing 30 May 2016. Practitioners will be aware that it is often the case that, in the period immediately before a trial commencement date, prosecution and defence trial counsel discuss and resolve matters appropriately without need for a trial. The purpose of the special call-over is to identify such matters earlier and, for this purpose, the DPP has allocated resources for such discussions to occur prior to the special call-over.
