Amendment to the Criminal Appeal Rules

On 1 August 2016 the Supreme Court Rules Committee approved Amendment No 1 to the Criminal Appeal Rules. The amendments require leave to be sought from the Court of Criminal Appeal for applications to set aside or vary its orders and enables the court to determine the grant of leave and the application on the papers. The amendment was published today on the NSW Legislation website and has now commenced.
