Parole release authority and re-offending

The New South Wales Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research (BOCSAR) has found that offenders released to parole by the State Parole Authority (SPA parolees) are less likely to re-offend than offenders released to parole as a result of a court decision (court-ordered parolees). The findings are contained in the latest Crime and Justice Bulletin.
