LCA backs measures to fight "revenge pornography"

The Law Council has backed the federal government's planned public consultation on civil penalties for perpetrators and sites that host "revenge pornography", as well as an expanded role for the Office of the Children's eSafety Commissioner.

"Our laws need to keep pace with shifting technology and culture and currently they do not adequately capture the social and psychological harm that results from the use of sexual imagery to cause harm and distress", said Law Council of Australia President Stuart Clark AM.
