Diverse Women in Law – Survey

10/08/2021

The Multiculturalism Network invites all women from diverse backgrounds at the New South Wales Bar to participate in the Diverse Women in Law’s (DWL) landmark survey. This survey seeks to gather important information to support DWL's movement for change in the legal industry.

The survey has been extended and is open until 11:59pm on Friday 13 August 2021.

It can be accessed here.

Survey group

The survey is aimed at individuals in the early stages of their career in NSW (i.e. have been in the profession for less than 5 years or are currently at university) and:

  • self-identify as women (cis, trans or gender diverse); and
  • self-identify as being from one or more of the following underrepresented backgrounds, including culturally and linguistically diverse persons; Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander persons; LGBTQI+ persons; living with a disability; people who are or have experienced socioeconomic disadvantage; and people with caring responsibilities.

Why you should participate

Through participating in this study, you will assist in developing DWL’s wider understanding of the structural inequalities and systemic barriers faced by women from under-represented backgrounds. These results will be critical in informing and developing new solutions that alleviate the under-representation of diverse women in the legal sector – having significant implications on the legal sector for years to come.
