Division Head (Workers Compensation Division)

The Personal Injury Commission (the Commission) was established in NSW on 1 March 2021. The Commission is a single, independent tribunal for injured people claiming against the compulsory third party (CTP) and workers compensation insurance schemes.

Applications are sought from suitably qualified and experienced persons for appointment to the position of Division Head (Workers Compensation Division) (full-time). The Division Head is also a Principal Member and Senior Executive member of the Commission. Sydney based.

The Division Head is responsible for the direction of business in the Workers Compensation Division of the Commission. The position has an attractive salary. The Division Head is one of four members of the Commission’s Executive Leadership Team and reports to the President, a District Court Judge. The appointment may be made for a term of up to 5 years, with eligibility for reappointment.

Applicants for the appointment as Division Head will be qualified legal practitioners of at least 7 years’ standing or, in the opinion of the Minister, possess special knowledge, skill or expertise. Applicants will have sound knowledge of workers compensation law and practice, demonstrated strategic leadership, and alternative dispute resolution and facilitation skills and experience.
