Expressions of Interest Sought: Redfern Legal Centre Employment Rights Legal Service
21/09/2021

Redfern Legal Centre (RLC) is proud to announce a new state wide employment law service, the ‘Employment Rights Legal Service’ (‘ERLS’) delivering advice and representation to vulnerable workers. The ERLS will be delivered in partnership with Inner City Legal Centre and Kingsford Legal Centre.
Prior to COVID-19, there was a huge demand for legal advice for vulnerable workers facing exploitation and harassment in the workplace. With COVID-19 lockdowns once again in place across the state, the demand for advice has increased.
RLC is seeking expressions of interest from barristers with experience in employment and discrimination law to join their weekly or fortnightly telephone advice roster on a voluntary basis. The advice ranges from unfair dismissal, underpayments, discrimination, stand downs, performance management and COVID-19 related issues.
It is expected that the advice would be provided on a direct access basis. Barristers participating in the advice roster should be mindful of their obligations under Rule 22 of the Legal Profession Uniform Conduct (Barristers) Rules 2015.
