The Law Council of Australia's International Law Section and Federal Litigation and Dispute Resolution Section, and the New South Wales Bar Association present the next webinar in the The Authors' Series - The Psychology of Lawyers in Litigation and Negotiation, which will be held online via Zoom on Wednesday 29 September 2021 from 8:00am – 9:00am.

The psychology of lawyers themselves is highly relevant to the work attorneys do on behalf of their clients. While some may assume that lawyers are hyper-rational beings, research reveals that lawyers are human after all.

This webinar will focus on the psychology of perception, communication, persuasion, emotion, judgment, decision-making, justice and ethics. It will show how knowledge of lawyers' psychology in each of these areas can help lawyers more effectively and ethically interview, counsel, negotiate, mediate, investigate, and litigate on behalf of their clients.

The speakers at the event will be Professor Jean Sternlight, the Michael and Sonja Saltman Professor of Law and Founding Director of the Saltman Center for Conflict Resolution at the University of Nevada Las Vegas Boyd School of Law, and Ms Mary Walker OAM, Chair of the Law Council of Australia's International Law Section.

Registration is free, however registration is required. Please note that there limited spots available. Registration closes on 29 September 2021, and is available here.
