No place for Sexual Harassment at the Bar
09/11/2021

The New South Wales Bar Association is pleased to present the film “No place for sexual harassment at the Bar”.
The film is a must watch, and includes statements from the Chief Justice of New South Wales the Honourable TF Bathurst AC and the President of the New South Wales Bar Association about the stigma around reporting sexual harassment and the need for a significant cultural change in our profession.
In launching the film, President Michael McHugh SC and the Chair of the Diversity and Equality Committee, Kate Eastman SC, discuss the recent initiatives taken by the New South Wales Bar Association to eliminate sexual harassment, which include (i) the appointment of an independent Sexual Harassment Officer to provide dedicated, confidential support and advice to anyone who has experienced or witnessed inappropriate behaviour, and (ii) the introduction of an online reporting tool ‘Spot’ to allow sexual harassment, discrimination and workplace bullying to be reported confidentially and anonymously.
If you or someone you know have been impacted by sexual harassment at the New South Wales Bar, do not stay silent anymore. Report it now. Help is available.
Remember, each one of us has a role to play in building a safe and inclusive profession that promotes respect and integrity.
All members are requested to take the opportunity to watch the film here through the online CPD portal.
