Funeral details for Lindsay Graeme Foster

As advised previously in In Brief, the Hon Justice Lindsay Graeme Foster passed away on 21 November 2021. Formerly of Eleven Wentworth Chambers, Justice Foster was also a founding member of 5 St James Hall where he remained until he was appointed to the Bench of the Federal Court of Australia on 4 September 2008. Justice Foster retired in 2020.

Justice Foster came to the bar in 1981 and took silk in 1994. Prior to his call to the bar, he worked as a solicitor at Henry Davis York and Baker & McKenzie before a two year stint as general counsel and director of real estate acquisitions at McDonald’s Australia. He was educated at Knox Grammar, which he had attended on an academic scholarship and where he had been dux in each year as well as an outstanding sportsman and participant in the school’s extracurricular activities, and subsequently at University of Sydney from which he obtained a Bachelor of Arts and Law and a Masters of Law.

The funeral service for Justice Foster will be held at 3.00pm (this) Friday 26 November at Magnolia Chapel, Macquarie Park Crematorium, Corner Delhi Road and Plassey Road, North Ryde 2113.

In accordance with the venue's COVID-19 protocols all attendees must be double vaccinated and wearing masks. Proof of vaccination status will be checked before entry.

People are asked to arrive between 20 and 30 minutes before the scheduled start to allow staff time to check vaccination certificates.

The service will not be streamed.
