Unions NSW Jeff Shaw Memorial Scholarship

16/12/2021

Unions NSW and Elizabeth Shaw and her family have established a scholarship fund through the Public Education Foundation as part of the legacy and in honour of the late the Hon Jeff Shaw QC. The fund has been set up to provide scholarships to students.

The Unions NSW Jeff Shaw Memorial Scholarship supports students moving into Year 12 in 2022, providing them with $2,500 to assist in the crucial final year of their secondary school education.

This year four scholarships have already been funded, however donations are being sought to fund additional scholarships. These scholarships have made such a difference to the lives of the students who have received them in the past.

The Hon Jeff Shaw served as an ALP member of the Legislative Council, as Minister for Industrial Relations and Attorney General of New South Wales (1995–2000) and a Justice of the Supreme Court of NSW.

The Public Education Foundation (PEF) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to providing life changing scholarships to young people in public education, as well as their teachers and principals.

PEF exists to support students with particular educational needs or talents reach their full potential and improve overall educational outcomes. We focus on removing the barriers to achievement created by social and economic disadvantage.
