Expressions of Interest - Commissioner of the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW

The Department of Premier and Cabinet are calling for Expressions of Interest (EOI) for the role of Commissioner of the Industrial Relations Commission of NSW. The EOIs will be open for 2 weeks, closing on Monday 25th April 2022.
The Industrial Relations Commission of NSW (“IRC”) is a statutory tribunal empowered to resolve industrial disputes; set remuneration and other conditions of employment; and hear and determine other industrial matters, such as unfair dismissal and victimisation claims. Members of the Commission seek to resolve industrial matters in the first instance through conciliation or where conciliation is unsuccessful, Commissioners will determine the matter by arbitration.
The position is a statutory appointment, and the appointment will be made by the Governor of NSW. The appointment will be on a full-time basis for a period until the person attains the age of 65 years.
Candidates with the following attributes will be highly regarded:
- Extensive knowledge of, and experience in, the law and/or industrial relations. Legal qualifications strongly preferred;
- Track record of demonstrating high level of judgement, and professional and personal integrity;
- Sound understanding of contemporary industrial relations issues facing workplaces in the NSW jurisdiction.
