The Sydney University Law Society is running the Ashurst Client Interviewing Competition 2022. The Semi Finals will be held on Thursday 28th April and Friday 29th April. Each Semi Final will commence at 6pm. This year, they intend to hold the competition in-person at the University of Sydney Law School. However, if a competitor is based offshore, they will move the round online to accommodate their participation.

If you are unavailable on these dates, but still interested in judging the Grand Final will be held on Wednesday 4th May, at the University of Sydney Law School, commencing at 6:30pm, with refreshments served at 6pm.

Moot judging is a valuable way to support budding advocates and to foster connections between emerging lawyers and the Bar. It also provides an opportunity for barrister judges to obtain CPD units. To emphasise this point, the Wellbeing Committee organised a CPD webinar titled The Benefits of Judging Moots, to provide an overview of the moot competitions that the NSW Bar assists with and what is involved in judging a moot. A panel of mooters, former mooters and experienced moot judges provided practical tips for judging moots and supporting mooters' advocacy skills.
