New BOCSAR report: The impact of the NSW Youth Koori Court on sentencing and re-offending outcomes

The NSW Bureau of Crime Statistics and Research has released a new report regarding the participation rates in the NSW Youth Koori Court and its association with a reduction in incarceration, without any adverse impact on re-offending.
The study compared 151 Aboriginal young people referred to the Youth Koori Court with 2,883 similar Aboriginal young people who had a criminal matter finalised in the Children’s Court through the usual court process.
