The Judicial Commission of New South Wales, an independent statutory corporation established under the Judicial Officers Act 1986, is seeking a dynamic Chief Executive with the ability to provide leadership and vision to shape and deliver the organisation for the future.

About the Chief Executive Officer role

The role requires an understanding of the complexities of the NSW justice system and the critical role of judicial officers in that system; an ability to develop constructive working relationships with heads of jurisdiction and Commission members and to lead and revitalise the organisation and its employees in the discharge of its statutory functions.

The Chief Executive has the overall responsibility for the general conduct and the efficient, effective, and economical management of the functions and activities of the Commission to achieve its objectives.

Apart from responsibility for the Commission’s overall operations and compliance with its statutory duties, the Chief Executive will be expected to develop a strategic plan for the Commission and implement it under the Commission’s supervision.

The Chief Executive reports to the President of the Commission, who is the Chief Justice of New South Wales, and is accountable to the members of the Commission.
