Following Michael McHugh SC's decision to step down, the Bar Council met on the evening of 12 May 2022 and elected Gabrielle Bashir SC as President. The office bearers of the Bar Association are now:

President: Gabrielle Bashir SC Senior Vice-President: Dr Ruth Higgins SC Junior Vice-President: Dominic Toomey SC Treasurer: Michael Izzo SC Hon. Secretary: Nicholas Broadbent

Michael McHugh SC has also resigned from the Bar Council and in accordance with the Bar Association's Constitution Andrew Stone SC will fill the vacant position.
