Cecily Backhouse, former judge of the District Court of New South Wales, died on 10 September 2022. Cecily was admitted to practise at the Bar in February 1964 and was appointed to the Bench in March 1994. She formally retired in 2017. Members will be advised of funeral arrangements as soon as they are known.
