Law Enforcement Conduct Commission

17/10/2022

The primary role of the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission is to detect, oversee, investigate and expose misconduct and maladministration within the NSW Police Force and NSW Crime Commission. In the course of its investigations, the Commission often conducts examinations of witnesses, which may be in private or public, subject to the determination of the Commission.

The Commission wishes to establish a panel from which it can select members of the Bar to appear as Counsel Assisting the Commission in its examinations. Any barrister who would like to be considered by the Commission to be briefed to appear, should submit by email, an Expression of Interest, detailing their experience in appearing either as Counsel Assisting, or representing witnesses, before Anti- Corruption Commissions, Commissions of Inquiry, Inquests, and criminal trials.

Note: Fees payable to Senior Counsel and Junior Counsel are in accordance with the rates prescribed by the NSW Attorney General.

The closing date for Expressions of Interest is 5.00pm on 31 October 2022.
