Australian Christian Legal Society Lecture - 22 October 2024

Former High Court Justice Patrick Keane KC will present an inaugural lecture titled Christian Inspiration and Constitutional Insights on 22 October 2024 in NSW.

The lecture will start at 5:30pm on 22 October 2024 at the NSW Supreme Court. Drinks and canapés to follow at St James Church next door.

Justice Keane served as a Justice of the High Court of Australia from 2013 until 2022. Prior to this, His Honour served as the Solicitor-General for Queensland (1992-2005), a Justice of the Court of Appeal of the Supreme Court of Queensland (2005 -2010) and Chief Justice of the Federal Court of Australia (2010-2013). His Honour currently sits as a Non-Permanent Judge on the Court of Final Appeal in Hong Kong.

The Honourable Justice Meek will chair the lecture at Banco Court, NSW Supreme Court. The event is run by the Australian Christian Legal Society. A General Admission ticket is $60 and a student ticket is $40. You can also sponsor the attendance of a student.

At the event, Justice Keane will also launch Dr Mark Fowler’s new book, ‘Beauty and the Law: A Primer in Philosophy for Professionals Committed to the Common Good’, being a compendium of lectures delivered under that title at the UK Lawyers Christian Fellowship Conference 2024.
