International Bar Association '50:50 by 2030' Women in Law Survey
13/05/2025

The International Bar Association’s (IBA) ‘50:50 by 2030’ Project aims to explore the lack of gender parity across all levels of the legal profession. The IBA is conducting a global anonymous survey seeking views from women working in the legal profession. Please follow this link to participate in the survey.
The purpose of the survey is to gather information about women’s experiences working in the law – in all legal sectors, in all countries and of any age – to understand the challenges and opportunities women encounter in the profession and to learn more about what is or is not working. For more about the project, please see the IBA’s website here.
The survey findings will be presented and discussed at a session at the IBA’s annual conference in Toronto in November and will build upon the findings of the IBA’s 2017 report on women in commercial law.
The IBA will also publish a report setting out the results, quoting from those who are willing to talk about their experience and looking to make recommendations. The IBA is hoping that thousands of female practitioners will participate to help generate rich data from which to draw important conclusions and identify good practice.
