NAIDOC Week: 2-9 July 2023

03/07/2023

This week is NAIDOC Week which presents an opportunity for all Australians to learn about and celebrate First Nations cultures, histories and achievements. This year’s theme is “For Our Elders”, which recognises the important and influential role that Elders have played, and continue to play, in First Nations families and communities as cultural knowledge holders, trailblazers, activists and leaders. This year’s theme goes to the core of the Uluru Statement from the Heart, which the Association has long supported and which it continues to support through its advocacy for an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Voice. Further information on how you can support and get to know your local Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities through NAIDOC activities and events held across NSW is available here: National NAIDOC Week | NAIDOC
