Tonight: Issues for advocates in the coronial jurisdiction

What do coroners expect from advocates in inquests? How does advocacy in the coronial jurisdiction differ from other types of advocacy? What does it mean to advocate in a “therapeutic jurisdiction”? What are the common mistakes and pitfalls? How can you persuade a coroner when you disagree with counsel assisting? Is there more to coronial advocacy than just appearing in an inquest?

These questions and more will be explored in an interview format with two extremely experienced coroners, Teresa O’Sullivan and Hugh Dillon, and chaired by Kirsten Edwards with an opportunity for questions from the audience.
