Tonight: Fixing the Furnace - the dangers of sugars and seed oils

On Monday, 7 August 2023 at 5.00pm, the Wellbeing Commitee will be hosting a seminar on the dangers of sugars and seed oils in-person in Level 22 Chambers and via Zoom.

Former corporate lawyer, co-founder of a successful software company and technology investor, David Gillespie is the bestselling author of the Sweet Poison books, Big Fat Lies, Free Schools, Toxic Oil, Eat Real Food, The Eat Real Food Cookbook, Taming Toxic People, Teen Brain and The Good Fat Guide.

In 2008, David wrote Sweet Poison, a book about how we are poisoning ourselves with sugar. This book is generally credited with starting the current wave of sugar awareness in Australia. In a more recent book, Toxic Oil: Why Vegetable Oil Will Kill You & How To Save Yourself (2013) David takes the arguments in Sweet Poison and extends them to the widespread use of seed oils in the modern diet.

The seminar will be a hybrid event held in the boardroom at Level 22 Chambers. Dauid Sibtain SC will chair the seminar.
