Updated Reader/Tutor Guidelines

The Reader/Tutor Guidelines are intended to assist tutors and readers to obtain the maximum benefit from the reading period. In August 2023, they were updated.

The updates cover, amongst other things:

• changes to the Tutor Policy, adopted by the Bar Council in September 2022;
• the satisfactory completion of civil and criminal reading;
• guidance on devilling;
• updates to the Best Practice Guidelines; and
• suggested topics of instruction for the reading year.
