Tonight: Appellate Advocacy - Views from the Bench and Bar

The Honourable Justice JK Ward, president of the Court of Appeal and Laina Chan of 2 Selbourne Chambers will be discussing the assistance that the Court is looking for from the Bar in the range of cases that come before the Court of Appeal. This will include the particular challenges that the Court faces when the appellant is a self-represented litigant. Ms Chan will be sharing her perspective as counsel gleaned from the range of appeals that she has appeared in, including as counsel for the respondent against a self-represented litigant.

The session will be chaired by David Pritchard SC and will be held on Thursday, 5 October 2023 at 5.00pm in the Common Room. This CPD will be recorded and be available online at a later date.
