Tonight: Drug Offenders Program
25/10/2023

In-person – Wednesday, 25 October 2023
Drug Intervention Program (DIP) has developed a six-module online program designed for defendants in the Local Court who have either been found guilty of, or pleaded guilty to, a drug and alcohol offence, or who have nominated drug and alcohol addiction as a causative factor in their offending.
The program is directed to the importance of early intervention and awareness training and is intended to supplement, rather than replace, existing court diversionary programs. Some of the modules deal with health and wellbeing, including mental health and drug and alcohol use. Others deal with pathways to treatment and recovery, including early intervention treatment options, the importance of long-term support and the lifelong nature of recovery. Other modules give an overview of what to expect once entering the justice system. The cost of the entire program is $185 (incl. GST).
Further details about the program including an introductory video and brochure can be found on Impairment Training’s website available here.
To learn more about the program, please join our panel, Phillip Boulten SC, Shane Prince SC, Jim Finnane (Director and Program Organiser) and Diane Young (psychotherapist, addiction and trauma specialist).
