First Nations Mentoring Program expanded to early career First Nations lawyers
20/09/2023
We are pleased to inform members that Bar Council recently approved a revitalisation of the NSW Bar Association’s First Nations Mentoring Program, building on the strengths of the Program as it has operated since 2009 and expanding it to early career First Nations lawyers. The Mentoring Program is designed to provide First Nations lawyers and law students with support, networks, experience and practical legal knowledge through mentoring by barristers and judges, with the opportunity to stay connected with peers, mentors, the Association and the Indigenous Barristers’ Trust The Mum Shirl Fund.
We encourage members to share this information with their networks and to consider volunteering as a mentor. More information about the First Nations Mentoring Program and other Association initiatives supporting First Nations lawyers and law students is available on the NSW Bar Association's website.
