National Carers Week

Sunday, 15 October 2023 marked the beginning of National Carers Week. National Carers Week is an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the 2.65 million Australians who provide unpaid care and support to a family member or friend who has a disability, mental health condition, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug dependency, or who is frail.

Most Australians are likely to care for a friend or family member at some point in our lives. Many don’t identify as carers and are unaware of the services and supports available to assist them.
