Nominations have closed for 2024 Bar Council Election

Nominations for the 2024 Bar Council Election closed at 4.00pm Monday, 16 October 2023. All candidates should have received an acknowledgement of their nomination from the Returning Officer, if they have not, they should email the Bar Association as soon as possible at elections@nswbar.asn.au.

Nominations have been received from 19 Senior Counsel and 50 members of the Junior Bar (including 9 under 5s).

The 2024 Bar Council Election will be a hybrid model which will allow members, at their choosing, to vote either via the Association’s online election platform or by using a paper ballot.

Ballot Papers are being posted out this week and the ballot opens Thursday, 19 October 2023.
