Tonight: Vicarious Trauma Webinar

Are you having trouble sleeping? Nightmares? Flashbacks? Trouble sitting still? Or a short fuse? These, among others, are common symptoms for vicarious trauma.

The Wellbeing Committee are hosting a webinar on vicarious trauma with Dr Fiona Oates, Adjunct Research Fellow at The Cairns Institute - James Cook University on Thursday, 23 November 2023 at 5.00pm.

Dr Oates will discuss what occupational traumatic stress is, how it presents and strategies to address symptomology.

Dr Oates is a social work trained practitioner, consultant, educator and researcher with twenty years experience working with vulnerable children and families.

Dr Oates is the author of 'Trauma-Informed Support and Supervision for Child Protection Professionals' which outlines a model of professional support for those working in trauma-laden environments including law professionals.
