Call for Papers: 2024 Regional Conference Series

The Bar Association invites members to submit suggestions for papers to be included in the Association's 2024 Regional CPD Conference series.

The conferences will be held on Saturdays in Ballina, Newcastle, Orange, and Sydney during February and March. The Newcastle, North Coast, and Orange conferences will be held in person only. The Sydney conference will host a limited number of in-person attendees while simultaneously being live-streamed to a virtual audience at home or in chambers.

The dates for the 2024 Conferences are:

• Saturday, 24 February 2024 in Newcastle at Novotel Newcastle Beach
• Saturday, 9 March 2024 in North Coast at Ballina RSL Club
• Saturday, 16 March 2024 in Orange at Greenhouse of Orange
• Saturday, 23 March 2024 in Sydney at Hyatt Regency Sydney

Interested barristers, solicitors, academics, and non-legal professionals are invited to submit suggestions for papers online. During submission, you will be asked to provide your contact details, conference preference, a working title and, where possible, a short description or abstract of your presentation. All submissions must come under at least one of the four categories of CPD: Ethics and Professional Responsibility; Practice Management and Business Skills; Substantive Law, Practice and Procedure, and Evidence; Barristers' Skills.
