In person - Wednesday, 28 February 2024
The Diversity and Equality Committee is pleased to invite the Bar to attend a CPD seminar on promoting speaking roles for junior counsel, which will be held on Wednesday, 28 February 2024 at 5.00pm in the Bar Association Common Room.
Our guest speakers, Justice McGrath and Kate Morgan SC, will discuss a number of topics including the importance of developing and promoting the advocacy skills of diverse members of the junior Bar, how opportunities to take on speaking roles as a junior barrister assist in developing as an advocate, and how unconscious bias can impact upon junior barristers being given oral advocacy opportunities and strategies to address this.
Attendees will be invited to remain in the Common Room following the seminar for light refreshments and networking.
