Feedback from members on the application for a new Professional Standards Scheme

The NSW Bar Association has lodged an application to the Professional Standards Council of New South Wales for a new professional standards scheme (Scheme) as the current Scheme expires in 2025.

If approved, the Scheme will commence on 1 July 2025 and apply to all members of the NSW Bar who hold a NSW barrister’s practising certificate issued by the NSW Bar Association and who have professional indemnity insurance.

Members of the NSW Bar Association are welcome to provide feedback on how the Scheme may benefit (i) consumers of their services, (ii) the members themselves, and (iii) the legal professional more broadly.
