Tomorrow: Costs in Pro-Bono Referrals: Practice and Pitfalls

The NSW Bar Association's Costs and Fees Committee is pleased to invite you to attend a lunch-time seminar on ‘Costs in Pro-Bono Referrals: Practice and Pitfalls’. The seminar will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, 20 November 2024 in person at the NSWBA Common Room. The seminar will discuss how to obtain costs orders in pro bono matters following E1 v E2; E Pty Limited v E2 [2023] NSWDC 411. It will cover the following topics:

  • An overview of E1 v E2.

  • Form of orders to facilitate future payment and when to ask for the orders.

  • What to include in a pro bono cost disclosure.

  • The NSW Bar Association’s cost disclosure page.

This seminar will be presented by Costs and Fees Committee members Bora Kaplan and Katherine Oldfield.
