Today: The law of occupiers’ liability: fundamental principles and recent developments

27/11/2024

Online - Wednesday 27 November, 5-6pm

The NSW Bar Association’s Common Law Committee is pleased to invite you to attend a seminar on the law of occupiers’ liability; specifically, the duty owed by occupiers of land, premises or structures towards visitors who suffer injury during the course of their visit. The purpose of this seminar is to consider and discuss the existence, scope and discharge of the occupier’s duty of care in the context of both public and private land; whether it differs according to the lawfulness or otherwise of the entrant; and the extent, if any, of the duty owed by historical occupiers to contemporary entrants.

The seminar will be presented by James Thompson of Jack Shand Chambers. It will be held online via Zoom at 5pm on Wednesday, 27 November 2024.
