Last Bar Bushwalk for 2024: Lapstone to Glenbrook via Glenbrook Gorge

08/11/2024

On Sunday, 17 November 2024, Bar Bushwalking will undertake its last walk for the 2024 year.

We had previously contemplated a walk in the Royal National Park. However, this walk will be in the lower Blue Mountains, just over the Nepean River from Lapstone Railway Station to Glenbrook Railway Station through the impressive Glenbrook Gorge. There will be some rock-hopping and your feet will definitely get wet (best to keep walking shoes on when going through the Gorge, even in water). The walk is only about 9k’s, but it will be taken slowly and the Gorge is to be enjoyed.

Meet at 8.30am for a 8.45am start at Lapstone Railway Station. We will aim to get a train back from Glenbrook to Lapstone at the end of the walk. Lapstone is only about a 40 minute drive from the centre of Sydney, straight out along the M4.

As always, please have 1 or 2 litres of water, lunch, wet weather gear (if there is a prospect of rain), a hat and good walking shoes.

If you would like to come on the walk please register by sending an email to Robert White at rwhite@12thfloor.com.au by no later than Wednesday, 13 November 2024. Any queries, please feel free to call Robert White on 8029 6342, Leah Reid on 9151 2946 or David Pritchard on 9221 3848.
