Assistance to those affected by bushfires

The Law Institute of Victoria has responded quickly to the Black Saturday bushfire disaster by offering half an hour of free initial advice to people with bushfire-related legal problems. Members of the New South Wales Bar wishing to make a donation can do so by one or more of the following means:

• The Australian Red Cross Victorian Bushfire Appeal 2009�

• The Salvation Army is accepting donations online and over the phone on 13 SALVOS (13 72 58).

• Myer has announced that it will match, dollar-for-dollar, donations made to the Salvation Army through its stores. Donations through Myer can be made at the service centre of any Myer store.
