District Court judge to head Children's Court

03/03/2009

Attorney General John Hatzistergos has announced that henceforth a District Court judge would be appointed to head the Children’s Court. The attorney said the as yet un-named judge would take up the new position of president of the Children’s Court later this year. Presently, the court is headed by the senior children’s magistrate.

Mr Hatzistergos said other changes would be made to the operations of the Children’s Court following the Special Commission of Inquiry into Child Protection Services, which was carried out by Justice James Wood. Learn more >
