Budget has ignored access to justice, according to the Law Council

The Law Council has expressed disappointment that the 2009 Federal Budget contains no substantive new measures to improve access to legal services for economically and socially disadvantaged Australians.
Law Council President John Corcoran said, "Legal aid funding has not been increased in this Budget despite clear indications that the governmentâs lack of funding for legal aid is having a serious impact on the ability of many Australians to access legal services." Learn more>
