Legislation to note: NSW Trustee and Guardian Bill 2009

The _NSW Trustee and Guardian Bill 2009 _was introduced into the Legislative Assembly today, 5 June 2009 and its "Agreed to in Principle" speech has been delivered. The objects of the Bill, as provided in the explanatory notes include:

(a) to constitute the NSW Trustee and Guardian as a statutory corporation and to confer on it the functions currently exercised by the Public Trustee and the Protective Commissioner, and (b) for that purpose, to repeal and re-enact and update, with some modifications, the provisions of the Public Trustee Act 1913 _and the _Protected Estates Act 1983.
