Twilight Judicial Seminar: Monday, 15 June

A free seminar on people trafficking will take place on** Monday, 15 June 2009** in Sydney at 4.30pm. The seminar will look at the increasing number of people trafficking cases coming before the courts in Australia. The nature of offences in which people are forced into labour, including sexual servitude, is that there are likely to be few witnesses and limited physical evidence. This seminar will explore the difficulties that arise for judicial officers presiding in these cases. It will also look at the broader issues such as whether organised gangs are behind the ‘trade’ in people and the scope of the problem internationally.
