Jurors' fees and allowances to be increased (just a bit)

The Jury Amendment (Fees and Allowances) Regulation 2009 has been amended to increase, but not in any way that will threaten the state's credit rating, the attendance fees for jury service and the travelling and refreshment allowances that are payable to jurors. The Bar Association has spoken out on a number of occasions in support of better conditions for jurors.
