Barristers wanted for the Oxfam Trailwalker

18/03/2010

The Health, Sport and Recreation committee encourage you to register (or join) a Bar Association team in the Oxfam Trailwalker, to be held in Sydney on **27-29 August 2010. **Oxfam Trailwalker is the world's greatest team challenge. And it's also one of the toughest. The challenge is to get your team of four across 100km of Australian bush in less than 48 hours - and, collectively, to raise money to help to overcome poverty and suffering around the world.

Oxfam Trailwalker is all about teamwork - you need to start together, go through each checkpoint together, and finish together. It is challenging-but you don't need to be a marathon runner or a professional athlete to do it. There is plenty of time to train for the event. Anyone can do it !!!

This year Oxfam Trailwalker Sydney will see 500 teams (that's 2,000 individual participants!) walk 100km on the weekend of 27-29 August, principally on the Great North Walk and the Harbour to Hawkesbury Walking Track in the bushland of northern Sydney.

Oxfam trailwalker is limited to a maximum of 500 teams, at the request of NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service. You need to register early as it is a very popular event!

If you wish to register a team or are looking to join a team please contact Cindy Penrose at cpenrose@nswbar.asn.au
