Access to justice - where to now?

The 3rd National Access to Justice and Pro Bono Conference on 27-28 August 2010 will address the challenge of "where to now" that faces all of us in improving access to justice in Australia. The organisers are pleased to announce that Chief Justice Paul de Jersey AC will give the opening address on the first day of the conference. The full program is now available online.

Sessions will be in four streams, criminal justice, pro bono, civil and family law and working together/emerging needs, and plenary session topics will include:

• The case for funding
• Access to justice: a vision for the future
• The widening justice gap in the United States and the Obama Administration response
• The role of pro bono in access to justice
• Closing the gap on access to justice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples
• Access to justice and legal assistance - the road ahead
