Cyber crime generally refers to criminal activity where a computer or network (internet) is the source, tool, target, or place of a crime. Electronic evidence is anything that can be used and stored on a computer. Electronic evidence, unlike paper or physical evidence, is easier to tamper with or destroy. More and more criminal and civil matters have an electronic evidence component. It is critical lawyers understand the intricacies of presenting and defending such evidence.
