NSW v Victorian Barristers Hockey Match - 9 October 2010

Last year, in a stunning reversal of form, the Rupert Balfe – Leycester Meares Cup was returned its rightful and proud position in the NSW Bar Association Common Room cabinet after a period of absence which has proven impossible to quantify.� This year’s match is to be held on 9 October 2010 at 2.00pm at Kyeemagh RSL, on the corner of Mutch Avenue and Tancred Avenue, Kyeemagh.�

While all returning players are welcome, there is always need to replenish team stocks with new and exciting hockey talent, real or imagined.� Luckily, the rules of hockey are simple and learned quickly, although skills take a longer period to develop.� Accordingly, all interested players – barristers, judges, clerks – should contact Andrew Scotting on 9335 3080 or by e-mail scotting@stjames.net.au. As the present holders of the cup the NSW team would also appreciate the support of spectators, including families of players. The match promises to be an exciting prelude to the social occasion that inevitably follows in the confines of the RSL.
