Speeches to note: Opening of Law Term Dinner

On Monday, 31 January 2011, Chief Justice Spigelman AC delivered his annual address at the Law Society's Opening of Law Term Dinner. Titled "Global Engagement by Australian Lawyers", the chief justice spoke of the way in which our legal institutions are playing a significant role in the liberalisation of international trade in legal services, the development of principles of international commercial contract law, promotion of arbitration and encouraging judicial reform in Asia. The chief justice also spoke about the growing trend towards outsourcing of legal work to providers in India.
