Chief Justice launches BarADR

‘BarADR’, an initiative of the Bar Association’s ADR Committee was launched yesterday by The Hon JJ Spigelman AC, Chief Justice of NSW, in the newly refurbished Bar Association Common Room. ‘BarADR’ is a new service providing information to solicitors, in-house counsel and members of the public about ADR, in particular mediation, expert determination and arbitration. It also offers sample ADR agreements for use by ADR practitioners. A ‘BarADR’ kit has been developed and is available in hard copy at the Bar Association reception or online. It includes sample mediation, arbitration and expert determination agreements as well as lists of trained ADR barristers approved or accredited by Bar Council in these areas. Details of the New South Wales Bar Dispute Resolution Centre, located on Level 1 of Selborne Chambers are also available in the kit and on the webpage. This Centre is uniquely located and provides comfortable and modern facilities to conduct mediations, expert determinations, arbitrations and other ADR processes. 17 March 2011
